Who we are.
Jamestown Jewelry Design has grown into a team of jewelry experts with a combined experience of over 35 years. Working directly with James, to bring unique ideas to life with the latest technology available. Each piece from is stronger and more durable. Built with thicker shanks and stronger prongs than the mass-produced jewelry you see at most stores. It’s our goal to make the process of designing and creating your dream piece as effortless, exciting, and memorable as possible for you to remember throughout your entire life. About the artist and master jeweler.
Jamestown Jewelry Design is an Utah based company. Founded by James Oviatt, a certified Master Jeweler. James earned a degree in Jewelry Manufacturing Arts from the Gemological Institute of America. He has been making custom jewelry designs since 1998. James has created hundreds of custom engagement rings. In the early days, James hand carved wax models, currently he specializes in CAD created 3D printed resin moels. Which is then cast into precious metal and finished all in house by James and the team of experts.
Jamestown Jewelry Design specializing in the ancient Japanese art of bonding and patterning precious metals called Mokume Gane. This technique for jewelry making has been around for ages, however we are now using this more for a modern bride. Creating one-of-a-kind custom jewelry. Not only is James a Master Jeweler, he is an artist in several medias. Which include, sculpting, carpentry, painting and sketching.
